Mary "Snookie" Chandler, 67, of Johnson City, New York, passed away peacefully the night of February 6, 2023.
Snookie was born on August 21, 1955 to the late Edward and Eileen (Mangan) Stecker in Johnson City, New York. She graduated from Chenango Valley High School in 1975. Predeceased by brothers; Carl, Ronald, Gary Stecker.
Snookie is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Donald Chandler who she met in 1972 at the Blue Ridge Skating Rink; her three children, Roberta (Sean) Murphy, Kim (Kevin) McLean, and Michael Chandler; her sisters, Ann (Fran) Bello, Theresa (Charles) Dobbs, Minnie Stecker; and many nieces and nephews. Her memory will live on in her grandchildren which were her pride and joy; Mackenzie and Finnegan Murphy; Nora Chandler; Tiana, Kyla, Peyton, Mattie, Titus, Merit, and Kian Chandler. Her loving animals; Rusty, Patches, and Booter will miss her dearly.
Snookie retired from Broome Developmental Center and spent her time doing her favorite activities which included bingo, card games, Mexican train, and cross stitching. She enjoyed these activities with her many friends at Reynolds Point who she loved dearly.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. James Church, Main Street, Johnson City, Saturday at 11 a.m. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.
