They’re so much to say. Merina will be missed more than words can express. She was truly a great sister. She was , smart, energetic and helpful to everyone even when she herself was very busy with work and her family. Merina, this is not goodbye, it’s till we meet again in eternity together along with our family and friends that have passed before us. The memories never end.

As I said in another place, Merina and I had a very special connection.
My father returned home from Vietnam to attend the funeral of his older brother Mike Testa who had died from Leukemia. Merina sat on my father's lap during her father's funeral.
We spoke of this at times. My dad had a special place in his heart for Merina who was named after his little sister who died at age 2.
Late in my adulthood after the loss of my father I re-acquainted myself with this part of my family. I had always been intrigued but being so far away in Texas connecting had never seemed like a possibility. The realization that we all have such a little amount of time drove me to do that.
I first reached out to Peggy. But quickly Merina and the rest of the M-girls were there to welcome me "home." Together, the search continued and after a century we were united with our family beyond the US borders. What we discovered and experienced together was one of the most beautiful experiences of our lives.
Merina was always key to that. She helped make arrangements, wine tours, food, transportation. She gave and gave and gave. The reunions, the love, the meeting in Italy and sharing experiences together were a beautiful and wonderful dream.
In an equally short time, we have lost so many - Mario, Mauro, Angelo, Gino, Mary Ann, Terry, Holly, Nancy, Pina - the pain only assuaged by the joy we felt together in the brief time we had.
You've got to seriously wonder what the message is when so many of the angels among us are leaving this earth and passing through the veil.
Merina lives on in my memory and in my heart and I pray that the time which it takes for us to greet each other again is brief. The hours, days, months or years will seem like an eternity.
Godspeed mia cugina. I hope you are embracing them all right now. I will do my best to take care of your most cherished.
Thank you for the joy you gave me. I love you.

There was a knock on my door weeks after Dave died. There was Merina with a surprise charcuterie board! Out of the blue kindness and thoughtfulness. I’m so happy I joined you at Mountain Top. I feel for you Jerry. ❤️

It was impossible not to love Merina. She always had a smile on her face and would always stop to say hello to me in my office.Though our paths did not cross daily, we shared a story or two whenever we could. My heart goes out to all of you. A special angel now holds a light.

Q: What will you never forget about Merina?
A: I will never forget the love and kindness and patience and tolerance that you gave to me as a mother you loved your grandchildren so deeply, and your dedication to your family was intense.
I couldn’t possibly
Thank you for all that you have done for our family. It goes so much deeper than anyone knows. I don’t know how to navigate these waters without you, but I will carry your strength with me..
