David E McDonough, 79, of Binghamton NY, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 25, 2022
He is survived by his beloved companion of sixteen years, Barbara Button of Johnson City NY, sister, Terry Campbell (wife of Gary Campbell), and children, Kiersten, Brandon and Gavin. There are also 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Louie E and Jane L McDonough, siblings, Molly McDonough, Margot Herbert, Michael McDonough and Karen Sweeney.
David was a graduate of Carson Long Military Academy and received an Associate's degree in Hotel and Business Management at Delhi. He then started as an apprenticeship in the I.B.E.W. Local 325, and retired as a seasoned journeyman.
He was an avid Yankees fan and a longtime fan and season ticket holder to the Binghamton Whalers Hockey Team.
David could often be found sitting at home watching his TV shows and enjoying a good cigar. He shared many special times with Barb. They loved to go on cruises together, enjoyed their weekly date nights with cocktails at The Beef or the AOH. He was a loyal member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians for many years.
Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Saturday at 2 p.m. Rev. Stephen Ogaro will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Saturday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.
