Obituary of Dominic L. Santoni

Dominic L. Santoni, 96, of Binghamton, died Monday March 21, 2022 at his home after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Anne Santoni, his parents Louis and Frances (Tagliaferri) Santoni, his sisters Mary Chesna and Helen Palmieri, and his brother Rocco Santoni. He is survived by his four sons and daughter-in-law, James Santoni, Binghamton; John Santoni, Florida; Jerome and Lynda Santoni, NC; and Jeffrey Santoni, California; his grandchildren Nicholas, Christopher, Samantha and Sabrina; his brother Sam and Fran Santoni; his sister-in-law, Margaret Butler and former daughter-in-law, Pamela Chiesi; also by several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Vestal. A graduate of Binghamton North High School, Dom served in the US Marine Corps, 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Division in the South Pacific during World War II. Awarded the Purple Heart, he went on to attend St. Bonaventure University and enjoyed a career at IBM for 36 years. Dom was an avid golfer, a dedicated family man and treated everyone he met with compassion, kindness and respect. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 10 a.m. Entombment will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in Dominic's memory may be made to Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, 165 Clifton Boulevard, Vestal, NY 13850.
