Obituary of David E. Brandon

David (Dave) Brandon, 68, passed away unexpectedly at home on February 23, 2022. Born and raised in Schenectady, Dave was predeceased by his parents Ronald Brandon and Marjorie Lang Brandon. He attended Boston University with a degree in Geology and earned a Masters in Geological Science from Binghamton University. He worked for Texaco, New Orleans, as a geophysicist from 1980 to 1989. Dave was the COO of Brandon Engineering, a family owned and operated international business that designs components for power plant turbines. Known for his sarcastic charm and witty sense of humor, Dave was an avid reader, history and geography buff, with an eclectic movie collection. He enjoyed making hot-sauce from home-grown peppers. Dave was also a master of Sudoku, cryptograms and crossword puzzles. Dave is survived by his wife Donna McCall and sons Jeff and Steve Brandon of Binghamton, sister Diane Brandon and husband Mark Hadley of Denver, CO, brother Doug and wife Nancy Brandon, and children Scott and Laura Brandon of Denver, CO. He is also survived by sister-in-law Diane and husband James Ash, of West Palm Beach, FL, and children David and Meghan. Arrangements are being made by the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home at 141 Main Street, Binghamton, NY. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
