Dacey Elizabeth Madigan
August 20, 1988 – May 30, 2021
Bells rang out in unity as this beautiful angel got her wings. A beautiful soul gone way too soon; Dacey Elizabeth Madigan passed peacefully in her sleep at the young age of 32.
Dacey's kindness and unconditional love touched all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her purity of purpose and selfless service leaves this world a more loving place. Dacey was gifted with unyielding optimism, generosity and a pure heart. She loved all beings, but most especially, all creatures great and small. Dacey could be seen volunteering at the stables or various animal shelters and she eventually found herself working with the SPCA Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit. She saw the beauty in all creatures which caused us to roll our eyes at some of the animals she chose to befriend!
She was humble yet passionate and generous to a fault. She naturally helped those most in need and was passionate about every cause. So caring, so sweet and so sincere. She leaves us with countless memories like the time she ended-up befriending and caring for a new neighbor who was terminally ill.
Dacey was gifted in so many ways. Creative and crafty, her family and friends were honored to receive beautiful gifts straight from her heart. She loved everything glitter, bright and shiny as a little girl and crafting became a time of peace and joy for Dacey from her earliest days. Her gifts are treasured, and we will keep them close to our hearts. Dacey had a special relationship with her grandmother and enjoyed the yearly tradition of making kolaczki and biscotti with grandma and cousins. She always rolled the dough the best!
She also had a love of and passion for ballet for over 15 years. She held the highest regard for Master Rafael Grigorian for teaching her the discipline and passion for the art.
Dacey graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice and Anthrozoology from Canisius College in 2017. She was an incredible writer but left us too soon to realize the full potential of all her gifts.
Dacey and her partner Jeff shared a passion for nature spending time together gardening, fishing, hiking and generally exploring the local countryside.
Dacey is survived by her loving partner Jeff Rose; mother Elaine Madigan (with whom she had a very special and close relationship); father Brian Madigan; sister Magill Madigan; grandmother Cecilia Ravas and countless special aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by her grandparents Robert and Ellen Madigan and Paul W. Ravas; aunt Julie Madigan; cousin Emily Shank and uncles Fred Madigan and Tom Race.
In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to the Broome County Humane Society (http://bchumanesoc.com/) .
Dacey Elizabeth Madigan will live on in our hearts forever. She will be remembered always as the earth angel she was, taken from us way too soon. Thankful for our faith, we are comforted with the knowledge that Dacey is at peace with loved ones in a better place.
