Thomas M. Murphy, 84, passed away on Wednesday, April 28th after years of declining health. Tom was predeceased by his son Matthew; his parents Thomas and Hazel Murphy; his sister D. Jeanne Connors; his in-laws Joseph and Loretta McCormick and brothers-in-law, Vincent, Regis and Kevin McCormick. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Marianne (McCormick) Murphy; three sons Michael Murphy and Robin Doran of Endicott, NY; daughter-in-law Wendy Murphy; Daniel (Kelley) of Round Rock, TX; Thomas (Elda) of Georgetown, TX; two daughters, Colleen Murphy Romeo and Kate Murphy. Papa is survived by five grandchildren, Haley, Morgan, Connor, Danny and Justin; his sister Maryann and Bud Rader; brother-in-law George Connors; sister-in-law Ruth McCormick and several nieces and nephews. Tom was a good hard working family man. He was a heavy equipment and asphalt salesman from Vestal Asphalt Inc. for many years. A lifelong Giants fan and one of the funniest persons you could meet. He was very gifted in that way. The family would like to thank Dr. Frank Floyd of UHS and Colleen Cameron R.N. from Lourdes for many years of kind compassionate care. The doctors, nurses and staff at Wilson Hospital South and North Tower 4 for their care as well. He was loved very much and will be missed until, we meet again. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Wednesday at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Augustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, PA. The family will receive friends at church Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Expressions of sympathy in Tom's memory may be made to Loaves and Fishes at St. Vincent de Paul, 165 Clifton Boulevard, Vestal, NY 13850 or Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760. The Mass will be livestreamed on the STVBS-Vestal youtube channel.
