Elizabeth Diane O'Hare, 86, passed away on April 17, 2021 at Ideal Senior Living Center, Endicott, NY under the kind and compassionate care of their Staff and Administration. Diane was predeceased by her loving husband, John P. "Jack" O'Hare in 2013 after 57 years of marriage. Diane was also predeceased by her mother, Louise Schuster Brooks, her stepfather, Percy Brooks and a large extended Schuster family of her aunts, uncles and cousins. She is also predeceased by members of Jack's family, John and Nancy O'Hare, Cis and Sam Campagna, Anne Hayes, John Hayes and Joan Hayes.
She is survived by her children, John and Ann O'Hare, Beltsville, MD, David and Janet O'Hare, Victor, NY, Susan and Richard Bucci, Binghamton, NY and Timothy and Michelle O'Hare, Apalachin, NY. Eleven grandchildren, Patrick and Jen O'Hare, Matthew O'Hare, Laura O'Hare, Michael and Kara O'Hare, Megan and Ryan Crowe, Sarah and Chris Stockman, Caroline and Anand Kapasi, Liz Bucci and Liam Burns, Peter and Maggie Bucci, Andrew O'Hare and Charlie O'Hare. Eight great-grandchildren, Chloe, Corrine, JJ, Ava, Chance, Jack, Mason, and Mila. Brother and sister-in-law E. Timothy and Carol O'Hare, ten nieces and nephews, and many life-long friends.
Diane graduated from St. Patrick's Academy. She was a parishioner at St. James Roman Catholic Church, a member of its Rosary Altar Society, Over 50 Club, Candy Makers, After Funeral Luncheon team and a volunteer at their food pantry. She was also a member of the Ladies of Charity. After a successful retail management career, Diane retired from JC Penney. She and Jack enjoyed many years of retirement together traveling. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Johnson City, NY at 11:30am. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30am to 11:30am prior to the funeral mass. In keeping with Covid-19 safety protocols for those unable to attend, the service will be Livestreamed at St. James Church on Livestream . Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Diane may be made to Catholic Charities of Broome County Food Pantry, 100 Main Street, Binghamton, NY 13905 or True Friends Animal Welfare Center, 16332 SR 706, Montrose, PA 18801, who took Diane's beloved cat's, Cici and Rinny, caring for them until they could be adopted together.
