Pokey and family, I was so sorry to learn of David's passing. I remember when I first met him, as a young girl getting glasses at Peters' Optical. Then, of course, I got to know you both better through WSKG and throughout our respective nonprofit careers. Such a fine man, and I'll miss him. My deepest condolences and many thoughts to you all.

We would like to extend out most sincerest thoughts to Pokey and the entire Crocker family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
(Personally from Doug)... David and I became closer when he had lost his son, Andy. Our best friend Anna married Andy and our friendship had extended to the Crockers. I felt so strongly about David and Pokey, as it is a parents worst nightmare to lose a child.
David appeared to be a beacon of light who showed the rest of us how to move forward. Carolyn and I visited David and Pokey at their home' where I even got to go on a tractor ride around his North Forty to pick blackberries. David drove me around his town as we passed a bar and we both agreed we should come back to this spot and grab a beer sometime. In my time David would be described as a "good skate", "a good egg" and a "man's man". Im gonna miss him, but he's with his son which gives me comfort. ...I wish I had that beer with him...
(Personally from Carolyn) David was so soft-spoken and sweet. I will miss his stories about Andy. He was a man of the earth and I loved watching his birds in the feeders....We will miss you...

Dear Heidi and Family.
Our sympathies are with you. Every time I drive the gator around this place I think of David. He made a very big and positive impact on my life. From our greasy breakfasts in town to our periodic stops in the middle of nowhere to watch a tractor plow a field. Some people you meet in your life are never forgotten. David’s memory will always be with me. Matt Evans
