Obituary of Josephine E. Ganisin

Josephine Ganisin, 96, of the Town of Binghamton, died Wednesday, March 3, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Joseph Ganisin in 2003 and by her son Mark in 2019. She is survived by her children, Mary Coyle, Michael and Dori May Ganisin, Marlette and Roger Conti, Colleen and Perry Iannone, Joseph, Jr. and Shannon Ganisin, Elaine and Roger Van Gorden ; eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and her neighbor's children, Donna and Ron Aton. She worked at Sears-Roebuck after High School and was the voice of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital as a switchboard operator since the late 1960's and continued part time into her 80's. She graduated from Binghamton North High School and studied at Ridley Lowell Business School. Mom loved horseback riding and living in the country. Mom died in her home, in the care of her family. The family wishes to thank Lourdes Hospital Emergency and Inpatient Departments, United Methodist Homes (Hilltop Campus), Lourdes Hospice and Dr. R. Ramanujan. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Augustine's Church, Silver Lake, PA., Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
