Robert Amos Warner, 84, of Binghamton, died peacefully at Wilson Hospital on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary "Carol". He is survived by his three daughters, Robin (Jamie) Kimmel, Harpursville, NY; Leslie Korsunsky, Downingtown, PA; and Marnie (Tim) Burdick, Maine, NY, and eight grandchildren, Jared (Lisa) Kimmel, Lindsay (Tyler) Neidig, and Hannah Kimmel (fiancé Nacho Juelle); Jedd (Traci) Burdick, Emily Burdick and Kurt Burdick (fiancée Annie Wallikas); and Sara Korsunsky and Rebecca Korsunsky. Special joy was brought to his recent days by his great granddaughter, Everson Carol Neidig (Lindsay & Tyler), and he would have been delighted by his soon-to-be new great granddaughter, Joanna Grace Kimmel (Jared & Lisa). He is also survived by 2 sisters, Sallie Gray, Montgomery Village, MD, and Sue (Terry) Kelly, Endwell, NY and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Nancy Bruetsch, Conklin, NY; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and helpful neighbors. In addition to being predeceased by his wife, he was also predeceased by his parents Freida and George Warner, sister Barbara Jean Warner, son-in-law Roman Korsunsky, brother-in-law Dick Gray and brother-in-law Joseph Bruetsch.
Bob graduated from Binghamton North High School in 1955 and attended Broome Community College. He served in the United States Naval Reserves for 8 years. He was an officer and member of the Binghamton Rifle Club for over 10 years and also a member of the ASOA Sportsmen's Club. He was a gymnastics coach at TC Stars for over 10 years. He was a proud and dedicated employee of Link Aviation from where he retired after 40 years of service. He was a fan of music, car racing, cooking, camping and spending time with his family.
For health and safety concerns, the family will hold a burial service at Vestal Hills Memorial Park in the spring of 2021. Condolences can be mailed to The Family of Robert Warner, 5 Nanticoke Road, Maine, NY 13802. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Research and Prevention Foundation (https://alzheimersprevention.org/) or in his wife's name to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (https://www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org/).
