Obituary of Kathleen A. Casler

Kathleen (David) Casler, 71, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2021 at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Chittenango, NY. She was born in Vestal, NY, the daughter of the late Bruce David and Rosemary Guinane David. Kathy graduated from Vestal Central High School and Broome Community College with a nursing degree, with which she was able to follow in her mother's footsteps to become an RN and fulfill her lifelong passion for nursing. She worked in the Binghamton area for several nursing homes and United Health Services Hospital for a number of years before moving to the Syracuse area to take a position at the VA Medical Center, where she loved taking care of the veterans. She loved old movies, flowers, good books, anything lemon flavored, and especially enjoyed long talks reminiscing with family and friends. Kathy is survived by her sister, Peggy (Larry) Epolito of Manlius, and brothers Lee (Peggy) David of Penfield, Brian David of Liverpool, and Jack David of New York City. Also surviving are nieces Kerrie Strong, Sarah Vane, and Darcy Bingham, and nephews Daniel Conwell, Ryan Conwell, Jeffrey David, and Drew David, along with 8 great nieces and nephews and most importantly, her beloved dog Fritz.
Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Monday at 1 p.m. Rev. Msgr. John P. Putano will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Monday from 12 noon until 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Helping Hounds Dog Rescue, 7268 Caswell Street, North Syracuse, NY 13212
