Obituary of Leonard A. DePalmo
Please share a memory of Leonard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Leonard A. DePalmo, 88, of Binghamton passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 21, 2021.
He was predeceased by his beloved sister, Frances Manni, and his parents, Anthony and Mary DePalmo. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Roberta DePalmo, and his three children, Mary Beth George (Armond), Lisa Matthews (Lynn), and Stephen DePalmo (Anne); 7 Grandchildren, Patrick Matthews (Mariah), Alexis George, Jenna Matthews, Matthew DePalmo, Emily DePalmo, David George and Claire DePalmo; 3 Great Grandchildren, Bailey Matthews, Parker Matthews and PJ Matthews. He is also survived by his cherished nieces and nephews. Our family will be forever grateful to Teri for her loving care, and to Sheri and Rebecca for their kindness and prayers.
Len had a genuine interest in people. From a young age he developed a great work-ethic. As a young man he worked at his family business, "The Brandywine", where he learned many of his life's lessons. A professional home-improvement specialist was never needed because Len fixed it all. There was never a job around the house that he didn't believe he could do himself. His ability to connect with people helped him achieve many sales awards and develop life-long friendships at Morton Salt. He loved to travel extensively with Roberta, but he always returned to his special place, Cape Cod.
Dad excuse our lengthy obituary, but we did not take your suggestion to just write "Len died."
Due to Covid-19, a private family Funeral Mass will be offered at Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis Street, Endwell. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. Contributions may be made in his memory to Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org or Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
