Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Retired Binghamton Firefighter, Jim 'Mac' McNamara, entered into eternal life unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. He was 66 years old. He leaves behind his two beloved children, Danny McNamara and Meggie (McNamara) Gabrielian, their spouses Meghan McNamara and Aaron Gabrielian, and was 'Grandpa Mac' to granddaughters Shea McNamara and Poppie Gabrielian. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Alice, and his sister, Carol. He is survived by siblings Joe (Sue), Brian (Vicki), Tommy (Peggy), Dan (Beth), and Colleen Brown. Jim graduated from Catholic Central High School, Class of 1970, and was a graduate of SUNY Delhi. He was a career Firefighter and owned Air Masters, Heating and Air Conditioning. Mac always had a twinkle in his eye and a big smile on his face. A great guy, gone too soon. He enjoyed life to the fullest, loved to see the world, and loved to travel. Oneida Lake held a special place in his heart. He was a great man, friend, and father. He loved his family and was extremely proud of his children, Danny and Meggie. He was so happy to be a grandfather to his two granddaughters. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all. May He Rest In Peace. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Highland Avenue, Binghamton, Monday at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Monday from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Mac's memory may be made to the Retired Professional Firefighter's Cancer Fund, 4 Loretta Drive, Binghamton, NY 13905
