Obituary of Daniel J. McCormack

Daniel J. "Cy" McCormack, 71 of Atlanta, GA, formerly of Binghamton, NY, died Thursday June 21 in Atlanta. He was predeceased by his parents, William J. and Barbara A. McCormack. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Bill and Peggy McCormack, Jim "Gus" McCormack of Binghamton, Eileen and Jim Oros, Anne McCormack and John Gleeson, and Chris McCormack all of California; nephews Patrick and Peggy McCormack, Joseph McCormack, Devin Simonds, Dominic Covello and Nicholas Covello; great nephews and nieces Neil, Connor and Lillian McCormack and Sophia and Brendan Covello, many cousins and his best friend Norm Singer. Cy was a graduate of Catholic Central High School Class of 1965. He had a bachelor's degree from Binghamton University and a master's degree from Loyola University in Chicago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in Vietnam during the Tet offensive as a member of the 377th Security Police guarding Tan Son Nhut Airbase. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, corner of Oak and Leroy Streets, Binghamton, Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A.
