Obituary of Aileen M. Stratford
In this world everything comes to an end except a mother’s love which starts long before we are born and never ends.
Aileen M. Stratford (Walsh) our beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the age of 92. Hers was a life devoted to the love and care of her family from her parents to her newest great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents Francis P. and Alberta Walsh, her brother Paul Walsh and his wife Ellen, her sisters Florence Kowalewski and her husband John, and Anne Crowley, and her son William Stratford, MD. For over 72 years she shared a committed marriage with her high school sweetheart Paul (Russell), who survives her. She is also survived by her children: Russell (Aileen) Stratford; Paul (Lisa) Stratford; and Karen (Michael) Hastings; grandchildren: Russell (Yuki) Stratford; Christopher (Katie) Stratford; William (Rebecca) Stratford; Michael (Samantha) Stratford; Kristin (Cole) Earl; Aileen (Andrew) McDermott; and Ryan (Lauren) Hastings; great grandchildren: Madeline Stratford; Case Stratford; Mia Stratford; Ben Stratford; Thomas Stratford; Henry Stratford; Cullen Stratford; William Davis Stratford; Braci Earl; Kody Earl; and Finntin Hastings. She was a founding member of the St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Parish. She enjoyed interacting and assisting customers for 18 years before retiring from Marine Midland Bank. Her true passion in life was selflessly caring for and guiding those she loved.
The family would like to thank Lourdes Hospice for their wonderful care and support during the last months of her life. We would also like to thank the staff at Elizabeth Church Manor who took wonderful care of her in her final days and during all her visits to her husband Paul over the last four years. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Chruch, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Friday at 1 p.m. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Forest City, PA. on Saturday. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.
