Obituary of Patricia Ellis

Patricia E. Ellis, 72, of Hillcrest, NY died Thursday June 22, 2017 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Patty was predeceased by her parents Kathyrn and Nelson Ellis, her dear friend Msgr. Peter J. Owens and her beloved four-legged companion "Paddy-dog". Also many aunts and uncles. Patty is survived by her sister Mary (Robert) Simon, her brother John (Maureen) Ellis, her nephews Matthew Ellis of New Orleans and Ryan (Erin) Ellis of Boston and their twins, Veronica and Indigo. She is also survived by her aunt Sally Feldsott. Her life long friends Ann Miller Loso, Nancy Brady and Judy O'Hara Murphy. Her special niece Michele Miller Kondrup and her family, husband Dr. Jim Kondrup and their children Benjamin, Peter, Gavin, Parker and Kenzington. Also many cousins and dear friends. Patty was known to many as "Aunt Patty" for her loving care and compassion in their lives. She took great pride in the family business of Nelson Ellis Wayside Furniture and Rugs and Phil's Gift Shop. The staff of this business was like family to her. Patty was a member of the Parish of St. Francis of Assisi and a strong advocate of Catholic Education serving the Catholic School Board of Broome County and the 50+ Dinner Committee along with numerous boards. She was inducted into the SCCHS Hall of Fame in 2011 for her years of loyalty and generosity. She was a graduate of Marywood University. Patty took on the causes of the poor giving special attention to those devastated by Hurricane Katrina in the lower 9th Ward. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Chenango Street, Hillcrest, Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. At Patty's request there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Patty's name may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1049 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY 13901 or to the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry of the Church of Saints John and Andrew, 7 Livingston Street, Binghamton, NY 13903.
