Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Heaven gained an angel today! Patty Ryan, our dear wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, passed away on July 16, 2013 surrounded by family and friends as she entered the gates of heaven. Patty was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Charles; and her beloved granddaughter, Patty Jo. Patty is survived by her devoted husband, William Ryan; her sons, Henry (Carol) Stoehr, Jay (Joanne) Stoehr, Fred (Christine) Stoehr; her daughters and BFFs, Cathy Stoehr and Mary (Dan) Igo. She leaves behind her heartbroken grandchildren that were the light of her life, Kellee and Jayme Stoehr, Casey and Kaitlin Stoehr, and Ryan, Kristen, and Matthew Igo. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Malyah and DJ. Patty is also survived by her brothers, William Harrison, Richard (Kathy) Harrison; and sister, Joyce Horstman; sister-in-law, Kathleen Ryan; and her "forever" sister, Marylou (Herman) Voelkner. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives, family and friends that she loved so much. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Hillcrest. Patty was dedicated to her faith, and in spite of all the hardships and illness she faced, her spirit and devotion never wavered. She was an inspiration to all that met her. As long as she was surrounded by family, Patty was happy. She enjoyed cheering on her grandchildren at sporting events, playing cards, crossword puzzles, and her daily BV's. She was proud of her early career as a flight attendant, and then working at the family business, HARCO, until her retirement. She enjoyed being a part of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and her time spent Irish dancing. Patty was always the last one to leave a party, she didn't want to miss anything! Gentle, kind, compassionate, and sweet - Mom was the Good Lord's feat. We know she's here, we feel her now, mending our souls as only she knows how. Heaven allowed us for too short a time to borrow an angel we called "Mom". She will be missed by all. Until we meet again Momma, we love you! A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Chenango Street, Hillcrest, Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Friday from 4-7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Patty may be made to A.O.H. Hall Improvements, 148 Main St., Binghamton, NY 13905 or St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1031 Chenango St., Binghamton, NY 13901.
