Norman J. McAfee of Johnson City died Friday, March 10, 2017. Norman was born August 14, 1939 in Hazelton PA. He was predeceased by his parents John and Henrietta McAfee, grandson Joseph McAfee and loving companion Patricia Wayno. He is survived by his children Michael (Christina) McAfee and Pati (Steven) Rychlicki, Dorothy Hovancik, the mother of his children; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Also survived by his loving sister Mary McAfee and her daughter Mary Ellen Culp-Friedman who held a special place in his heart. Norman worked several years for Tarco Steel metal service center and Raymond Corporation as a welder. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. His life enjoyment as an outdoorsman included fishing, hunting, and trapping which provided him much joy and friendships. Norman was a very proud man and determined to live his life independently until the end. The family would like to thank those in the community who kept a watchful eye over him. Funeral arrangements have been provided by J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
