Thomas R. McCarthy of Binghamton died Thursday September 22, 2016. Tom was horn October 12, 1950 in Binghamton, New York. He was predeceased by his parents John and Rita McCarthy, his sisters, Rita Farrow and Susan McCarthy, his uncle Joseph McCarthy, aunt, Kathleen Daggett and his nephews, Joseph McAfee and Joshua Manson. He is survived by his siblings, John (Lori) McCarthy, Nicholas McCarthy, Robert McCarthy, Maureen McCarthy, Bette (Tom) Curley. Also survived by Aunt Olga Sullivan, brother in law, George Farrow, many cherished nieces and nephews, cousins and best friend and Cousin Paul Sullivan. Tom retired from Ray-Pak Corp. in southern California after 25 years. He returned to the Binghamton area in 2005 to be closer to his family. He was very quiet and soft spoken, but a true friend to all that knew him. He will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank the staff of Mercy House for the comfort care and love provided to Tom in his last days. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton Monday at 9:30a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Sunday from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers kindly consider making donations to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
