Obituary of Gabriele Romeo

Gabriele Romeo, 87 of Binghamton died Friday September 16, 2016 at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Antonia Battaglia Romeo and his parents Domenico and Filomena Romeo. He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Domenic and Elizabeth Romeo, Endicott; his grandchildren, who were the joys of his life, Michael, Catherine and Gabriella Romeo and cousins in Italy. He was born in Calanna, Italy and came to the United States in 1957. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton and retired from General Electric Corporation. He enjoyed traveling to Florida and numerous trips to Italy to visit family and friends. He enjoyed watching golf, gardening and entertaining friends in his home with his wife "Tita". A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, corner of Oak and Leroy Streets, Binghamton, (Due to Renovations at St. Thomas Aquinas Church) Tuesday at 11 a.m. Entombment will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at St. Patrick's Church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Gabriele may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1 Aquinas St. Binghamton, NY 13905.
