Thomas R. Parsons, 78 of Binghamton died Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was born in Binghamton, NY the son of George and Kathleen O'Hara Parsons. He was predeceased by his brothers Larry, William and George; and sisters Kathleen and Marge. He is survived by his wife, Donna; daughters Sherry (Eddie), Adrianne (Christopher), Kelli (Scott); sons Paul (Donna), Matthew (Denise), Edward (Jeanne); grandchildren, Eric, Connor, Evan, Marissa, Madison, Meagan, Tommy, Aiyana, Ahmon, Erika and Brandon; great granddaughter, Alannah; his sister, Mary June Cullen; several nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School, Class of 1955. He served in the Army National Guard for 30 years, retiring in 1984 as Sergeant First Class. Prior to his retirement in 2000 he was a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Binghamton for 10 years. Tom enjoyed coaching girls softball and little league baseball and played in Over 70's slow pitch league. He was an avid NY Yankees fan. He enjoyed Christmas, especially his Xmas light display. He was proud to be Irish and was a member of the National Guard Drill Team. His fondest joy was his family. Funeral services will be held at the J. A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Thursday at 10:30a.m. Rev. Christopher R. Seibt will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Wednesday from 4-7p.m.
