Obituary of Oleta Bullis
Please share a memory of Oleta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Oleta J. Bullis, 68, died unexpectedly but peacefully in her sleep on May 27, 2013. She spent her last weekend of her life with all of her family celebrating the second birthday of her youngest granddaughter, Maraux, made her last meal for the family and wrapped her last birthday present. She was most proud of her three daughters, Shannon Lebron, Jennifer Bullis and Amy Boynton; and her four grandchildren, Robert Boynton, Gwen Boynton, Lily Boynton and Margaux Lebron. She is also survived by her husband and friend of more than 42 years, Robert Bullis; her sons-in-law, Stephen Lebron and Jeff Murko; her sister, Ramona Cross; her brothers, Robert Wyskup, Michael Wyskup, and Patrick Wyskup; her brother-in-law, Robert Cross, Donald Bullis and Michael Bullis; sisters-in-law, Paula Edelseck and Claylene Wyskup; her nephews, Mark Cross, Donnie Bullis and Thomas Bullis; and her niece, Lisa Gordon. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Stella Wyskup; her brother, Gilbert Wyskup; and her nephew, David Cross. Oleta was an outstanding cook and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her life was her home and her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and playing games on her IPad or computer with her grandchildren or watching "Ghost Stories" with one or two of them sitting snuggled on her lap. She enjoyed many crafts such as needlepoint, making jewelry and stained glass, and sewing, and she had great fun creating Halloween costumes for her children and later for her grandchildren. She particularly loved the fall season and decorating her home for Halloween as well as other holiday seasons. Oleta grew up in Oklahoma and met her husband of more than 42 years while he was stationed at Tinker AFB in Midwest City, Ok and won him over with her wonderful sense of humor, a gentle and kind soul and a quiet and unassuming manner. Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Oleta may be made to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Rd. Vestal, NY 13850.
