Obituary of Anna Koreckyj

Anna Koreckj was born on March 20, 1924 in Ukraine. At the young age of 18, she left her family farm to work in Germany where she met her loving husband, Michael. In 1950 Anna and her husband, Michael, along with their little daughter, Julie, relocated to America. She passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016. Anna was very religious and attended church services regularly. She enjoyed the company of her friends and was an excellent cook and baker. She loved making pierogies for her church and attended many church activities. Anna loved her Ukrainian heritage, its music, dances and traditions. She would faithfully attend the annual Ukrainian Festival in Ellenville, New York. Anna is predeceased by her loving husband, Michael; her parents, sister, two brothers, and her son, Walter. She is survived by her children, Julie, Mary, and Michael; her granddaughters, Lyndsey Milligan and Rachel Singer; and her great grandchildren, Tyler and Kaitlyn Milligan. Anna also has a step-brother, nieces, a nephew and grandnieces in Poland. The family is especially grateful to Luba Woytew for her years of devoted service to morn and to the Wolanski Family for loving mom as their own. A Divine Liturgy will be offered at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church, 230 Ukrainian Hill Road, Johnson City, Monday at 9:30 a.m. Rev. Teodor B. Czabala,Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Sunday from 3-5 p.m. Parastas Service will be at 4:15p.m.
