Lena Domiano Chirumbolo, 101, died Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Elizabeth Church Manor, Binghamton. She was born August 25, 1914 in Meadville, PA, the daughter of Pietro Domiano and Angelina Mangano both from Italy. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Paul; infant son, Paul John; sister and brother-in law, Beulah and Frank Scavelli; brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Mary Domiano; son-in-law, Carl Ernstrom; as well as 13 of her husband Paul's dear sisters, brothers and their spouses. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in law, Jim and Joanne Chirumbolo, Cold Spring, KY, Paul Anthony Chirumbolo, Binghamton; two daughters and son-in-law, Rita Chirumbolo Ernstrom, Pat Chirumbolo and Dana Barvinchak, Binghamton; her seven grandchildren, James (Jennifer), Christopher (Jaime), Michael (Kelly) and Matthew Chirumbolo; Carly (John Moore), Ellie and Andre Barvinchak; her nine great grandchildren who affectionately called her "GG": Zoe, Xander, Cannon, Shaedyn Chirumbolo McKee; Sam, Ben and Harper Chirumbolo; Mica and Avry Moore. Also surviving, dear Chirumbolo brothers and sisters-in-law Frank (Polly), Julie (Stella), Betty Rice and Bill. To her, family was first and foremost. She was a woman ahead of her time of great faith and strength. She was constant in her endless love and support, not only to family, but to many. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton, active throughout her life in the Rosary Altar Society; Binghamton PTA, the Girl Scouts. Beautiful inside and out, a wife, mother, dear aunt, friend, and mother to many who called her mom or Mrs. "C." she taught the greatest gift of all is truly love. The family would like to thank the staff at both Hilltop and Elizabeth Church Manor for their loving care of our mother. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Highland Avenue, Binghamton, Thursday at 10 a.m. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J. A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in Lena's name may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1 Aquinas St., Binghamton, NY 13905 or to United Methodist Homes, Elizabeth Church Campus, 863 Front Street, Binghamton, NY 13905.
