Obituary of Abraham L Ludovici

Abraham Lincoln Ludovici, 56 of Binghamton, died suddenly on May 23. He was born to Bruno and Edith Ludovici in Redwood City, CA. Abe spent most of his childhood in Owego, NY, where he graduated from high school as a four year football letterman. He went on to graduate from Cortland State and furthered his studies at the College of Financial Planning. Abe worked in the financial industry for over 30 years and was blessed to have wonderfully loyal clients. Abe is survived by his wife of 31 years, Stacy, and his twin daughters, Mary and Amy Ludovici; his mother, Edith Christian of Raleigh, NC; his brothers, Michael (Dawn) Ludovici, George Ludovici, Thomas Ludovici and David Ludovici and his sister, Enid (Larry) Wood. Abe was predeceased by his father, Bruno Ludovici. He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Judy Stento; brothers-in-law Jim (Carol) Stento, Gregory (Elizabelli) Stento, Andrew (Laura) Stento and a sister-in-law, Paula (Morten) Jorgensen; several nieces and nephews. His best buddy, Steve Kersat, whom he knew from childhood, meant the world to him and together they would regale us with the tales of their youth in Owego. Abe loved and treasured his family. He never missed a basketball game, rowing regatta or dance event. He beamed when watching his daughters perform. He often remarked about the wonderful friends we made as we followed our daughters through their endeavors. And frequently at these events there was food. Oh how Abe loved food. He loved to smoke food and his pulled pork BBQ was famous at the SU regatta food tents and at our annual Flyers picnics. God Bless the cook! Abe always had a smile and a quip of good humor, he believed in being positive everyday. He had so many interests, music, skiing, remodeling, yard work and wood working. We have lost a skilled pinochle partner. He loved to watch the Yankees and was glued to the television for SU basketball games hoping to catch a glimpse of Mary dancing. We were so fortunate to have spent one last weekend as a family watching Amy row at the Big East Rowing Championships in NJ. He left his imprint on all of us, and we will think of him every day as we remember his sayings, jokes and riddles. He was a loyal friend and loved his man lunches with the boys. Above all, Abe was a loving, thoughtful, caring and generous man, a wonderful husband and father. You will be with us always. A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. James Church, Johnson City Monday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at St. James Church following the Mass.
