Obituary of Schuyler K. Johnson

Schuyler K. W. Johnson, 80 of Binghamton died Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Elizabeth Church Manor. He was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis Johnson; his parents, Kenneth E. and Sally Wood Johnson and his sister, Sally Ann Johnson Rollins. He is survived by his children, David Schuyler Johnson, Phoenix, AZ, Sara Ann Johnson-Kaplan and Jason W. Kaplan, New York City; grandchildren, Chelsea K. Johnson, Hudson Rollie Johnson Kaplan; the mother of his children, Linda E. Johnson; cousin Fred O. Johnson and step-children, John Rehberg, Stacey Rehberg, Vivian Rehberg and Scott Rehberg. He was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Binghamton and the former proprietor of Johnson's China and Glass in Binghamton. He was a former member of the U.S. Army National Guard. He loved skiing and was an avid skier at Greek Peak for over 50 years which was passed down to his children. He also was an avid biker and enjoyed hiking. Schuyler grew up at 32 West End Avenue, Binghamton and spent summers at Oquaga Lake and later with friends at Quaker Lake. Those who knew him well enjoyed sharing stories over a beverage. He was the grandson of Edward A. Johnson, who started A&J Kitchen Tools and patented the egg beater. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at the J. A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Thursday from 4-6 p.m.
