Ann S. Rakaas, of Binghamton, died Tuesday October 27, 2015 at the James G. Johnston Memorial Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna Skrovanek; two sisters, Mary O'Connor and Velma Hull; and her brother, Paul Skrovanek. Ann is survived by her niece, Nancy and David E. Mead, Fredericksburg, VA, and their children, Diane Humerick and Mark Mead; sister-in-law, Shirley Skrovanek, Centerville, OH; and several great nieces and nephews. She was a member of John Hus Presbyterian Church, Binghamton and retired from the Social Security Administration in Washington, DC. Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton on Thursday at 1pm. Burial will be in Spring Forest Cemetery, Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home on Thursday from 12 noon until 1pm. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Ann may be made to Project Paw, Inc., 127 Bevier St., Binghamton, NY 13901
