Loretta M. Kerwin, 92 of Johnson City died Sunday August 30, 2015 at her home. She was predeceased by her sister, Marie Kerwin; and her brothers, James and Vincent Kerwin. She is survived by a niece, Mary Louise Kerwin; nephews, David, Sean, James and Michael Kerwin; and god-daughter, Christeen Gnad and her family. Loretta was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Blessed Sacrament Church, Vestal. She was a graduate of Syracuse University Hospital School of Nursing. She served as a US Army nurse aboard an Army Hospital Ship in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters during World War II. She worked at New York Hospital and Binghamton Psychiatric Hospital as a Supervising Nurse. After retirement, she was a volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Bank and as a relief caretaker for the Alzheimer's Association. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent DePaul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Rd., Vestal on Thursday at 10:30am. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Hancock, NY. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton on Thursday from 9 to 10am. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Loretta may be made to Catholic Charities of Broome County, 232 Main St., Binghamton, NY 13905 or United Methodist Homes, 10 Acre Pl., Binghamton, NY 13904.
