James A. Libous, 85, of Binghamton, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2015. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia (Conroy); his parents, Nazha (Barka) and Abraham Libous; sister, Jamelia Donato; and his baby angel granddaughter, Michelle Malagari. He is survived by three daughters, Deborah and James Nugent, Vestal; Judy Libous, Binghamton; Diane and Paul Malagari, Vestal; two sons, James P. and Suzanne Libous, Endwell; and John Libous, Austin, TX; eight grandchildren, Colleen (Nugent) and Ken Grams, Christine (Nugent) and Mark Bristol, James Nugent, Jr., Denise (Malagari) and Ben Heebner, Paul and Kristen Malagari, Daniel Malagari, Jennifer Libous, Stephanie Libous; two great grandchildren, Olivia and Liam Grams; also two brothers, William Libous and Alfred Libous; one sister-in-law, Louise (Conroy) and David Martin; and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Blessed Sacrament Church and past Trustee, Council member, Eucharistic Minister, and member of the Holy Name Society of St. Paul's Church. Jim proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during the Korean War. He retired as an Advisory Planner from IBM after 40 years of service and was also a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. He was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. His family meant everything to him, and he will be dearly missed by them for his love, strength and guidance. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent De Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal on Friday at 11am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton on Thursday from 4-7pm.
