Holleran, Robert P. Sr. Binghamton: On Thursday, May 3, 2012, Robert P. Holleran Sr, age 83, passed peacefully in the company of his loving family members. He was predeceased by his parents, Martin Sr. and Mary Connolly Holleran; and two brothers, Martin Jr. and James and a brother-in-law, John Lannon. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Lannon Holleran. He is survived by his children, Madeline Rockwell RSM of Laredo, Texas, Mark and Gail Holleran, Matthew and Diane Holleran, Susan and Kenneth Mansfield of Binghamton, NY, Robert Jr. and Carol Holleran of Hudson, NH; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Virginia; sister-in-laws, Joan Holleran, Nancy Holleran, Alice Lannon; brother-in-law, Thomas Lannon; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society. Bob's earlier years were spent as a floral designer for Barnes Flowers and Riverside Garden Center. Later he joined his father at Holleran and Onufrak. After retiring from H&O he returned to his passion of floral design at McLennans Florist. Bob was a very gifted artist and his creativity and talent showed in the incredible floral arrangement he could create winning him numerous awards at the NYS Fair. Bob had 2 green thumbs his yard always over flowing with many numerous varieties of flowers and vegetable. Bob's talent could be seen when he would decorate the church at St. Thomas at Christmas and Easter and in the oil paintings he created. Funeral services will be held at the J.A.McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St. Binghamton, Monday at 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, PA. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Sunday, from 2 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Robert may be made to the Johnson City Senior Center, 30 Brocton St, Johnson City, NY 13790.
