James Phillip Malarkey (1945 - 2011) | Visit Guest Book Malarkey, James Phillip Binghamton: James Phillip Malarkey, 65, of Binghamton, passed away Thursday morning, October 27, 2011 at his home. He was born on December 22, 1945 in Johnson City, New York, the son of Dominick and Betty Malarkey of Endicott. He graduated from Union-Endicott High School in 1964. Jim was an accomplished drummer and played with many musicians and groups in the area over the years. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Jim married Donna Lewis in 1971 and was currently employed by Transonic Systems in Ithaca, New York. Jim had a zest for life and a wonderful sense of humor. He made friends with everyone het met and he especially loved spending time in the Caribbean. He was a member of the Alberobellese Club. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Donna Malarkey; his parents, Dominick and Betty Malarkey; his sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Daniel Gordon; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dave and Ellen Lewis; nieces and nephews, Craig and Laura Gordon, Amy and Ron DellaPenta, Brad and Cyndy Gordon, Darcie Lewis, Tricia Lewis and Will Becker, Kevin and Beth Lewis; great-nieces and nephews; and special relatives, Lori and Dorothy Burlingame; along with many cherished friends. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Monday at 10 a.m. Reverend Ernest A. Steffensen will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Sunday from 3-6 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Jim may be made to CHOW, 3 Otseningo St., Binghamton, NY 13903 or the Humane Society, 2 Jackson St., Binghamton, NY 13903.
