Daly, Arnold G. Binghamton: Arnold G. Daly, 96, of Binghamton, died Saturday, October 22, 2011, at the Willow Point Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his parents, Helen and John Daly; his brothers, John, Raymond, Bernard and James Daly; sisters, Agnes Daly and Helen Hamilton; and his daughter-in-law, Linda Daly. He is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Eleanor Daly; his children, Lorraine and Robert Herbst, Binghamton, Allan Daly and fiance Margaret Filko, Binghamton; his grandchildren, Jenifer and Ronald Sopko, Stefani and Timothy Mowry, Sandra and Timothy Brownell; great-grandchildren, Allen-Michael, Ty, Carson, Yuri, Lauren and Emily; brother, George Daly; several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, and was retired from V&W Trailers. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and during World War II was an auxiliary policeman in Haledon, NJ. He was a talented artist and painter and played the harmonica. Arnold had a deep faith in God, inspiring others to increase their faith. He practiced his faith by never refusing to help anyone in need and by his beautiful love for his wife, Eleanor. He loved to have family and friends visit. He especially enjoyed time spent with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He related to all children and they with him. They especially enjoyed the rides he gave them on his tractor. He entertained everyone with his wonderful and unforgettable stories and poems. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Wednesday at 9 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Arnold may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Boys Town National Headquarters, 200 Flanagan Blvd., PO Box 6000, Boys Town, NE 68010.
