Obituary
Cipriani, Anthony Greer, SC: Anthony "Tony" Joseph Cipriani, of Greer, SC, left the arms of his loving wife and soul mate, Rita, of 47 years, and went to the arms of the Lord on Thursday, December 20, 2012. Born in Binghamton, NY, he was a son of the late Joseph and Louise (Santucci) Cipriani. Mr. Cipriani graduated from Broome Technical College and received his BSME from Oklahoma State University. After graduation, he worked first for New York State Electric and Gas and then for Worthington Corp in Wellsville, NY. He moved next to St. Cloud, MN to work for Turbodyne Corp. While there, he traveled the world designing and constructing power plants. He later moved to Medfield, MA and was employed by Chas. T. Main. Under their employment, he continued to travel the world to build or study power generating plants, working in a total of 24 countries and 46 states. He continued his career with CRS Sirrine in Greenville, SC as Vice President of operations for the power division. In 1994, he and two friends formed Power Management Group (PMG). He continued working as a consultant until December 2012. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Maria Bluemmel and husband Peter of Greenville, SC, Laura Thomas and husband Quinn of Mauldin, SC; and a son, Joseph of Downers Grove, IL; six grandchildren, Anthony, Alexandria and Isabella Bluemmel, Antonia, Benjamin and Noah Thomas; two brothers-in-law, Peter Magliocco and Arthur Griswold, both of Binghamton; sister-in-law, Mary Jean Dodge and husband Robert of Washington, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Cipriani was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Magliocco and Nancy Griswold. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton, Friday at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Tony may be made to Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, 7 Livingston St., Binghamton, NY 13903. Arrangements are by the J.A.
