Obituary of Sally A Sullivan

Sally (West) Sullivan, age 75, of Binghamton NY, died Saturday, May 21, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves a legacy of her devoted husband of 50 years, Walter D. Sullivan; her four beloved children, their spouses and her eleven grandchildren: Daniel (Jennifer) Sullivan and their children, Daniel, Matthew, and Brian; Michael (Mauri) Sullivan, and their children, Michael, Kathryn, Dylan and Andrew; Moira (Lawrence) Sullivan, and their daughter, Emily; and Dennis (Jennifer) Sullivan and their children, Molly, Madeline, and Tess. She is also survived by her brother, David (Marlene) West; sisters, Kathleen Morrow and Michelle (Brian) O'Loughlin; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Brian) Stiles and Judy Sullivan; brother-in-law, John Sullivan; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Rita and Charles West; her brothers-in-law, Donald Morrow and James Sullivan. Sally was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She exhibited quiet strength and courage in her struggle with lung disease. As matriarch of her family, Sally was a powerful force. Family was her source of strength and of utmost importance. Drawing from that love, she was an inspiration and will be forever missed and loved. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Richard Baron for his many years of special care for Sally. She was a member of the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Binghamton. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Binghamton, Thursday, at 10AM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Wednesday, from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Sally may be made to Lourdes Hospice Program, 4102 Old Vestal Rd., Vestal NY 13850.
